Pro Helvetia launched its first office in Asia in New Delhi in early 2007. Since then the team at Pro Helvetia New Delhi is in dialogue with artists and partner organisations to set up artist-in-residence programmes both in India and in Switzerland.   

The objective of the residencies is to stimulate creative and mutual exchange between artists from Switzerland and India. The artists are encouraged to develop their practice in a climate of cultural diversity.
