Artist: Navid Tschopp
Art Form: Visual Arts Navid’s field of work lies between the orient and the occident and contains the many layers between image and action. His research is about identity in the field of transcultural images and in context art. He is interested in the Indian pictorial world, on which the Persian art history is based. The aim of his work is to create a ‘third space’ between orient and occident / European and eastern culture where a new concept of identity based on learning from each other can grow. Navid wants to focus his study on the Parsi community that resides in India.

Artist: Boris Nikitin
Art Form: Performing Arts
Boris Nikitin studied applied theatre studies in Giessen where he organised the international diskurs festival in 2005. His performance “Woyzeck” won the Grand Jury Prize at the Festival 100° in Berlin. His producetion 'F for Fake' was performed at the plateaux festival in Frankfurt Germany. “Woyzeck” and “F for Fake” were invited to the Impulse Festival as two of ten most exceptional independent theatre productions where Boris received  the Dietmar N. Schmidt-prize.

Artist: Ruth Buck
Art Form: Visual Arts
An iaab exchange artist, Ruth Buck will be working on an audio-visual art project. She will be recording sounds in public spaces and then creating an audio data in the studio. In her works, Ruth goes beyond the margins of art genres and operates in different art media. She produces tactile works, conceptual works with words, photo light boxes that are objects in the space and sounds that create soundscapes.

Artist: Frida Leon Béraud
Art Form: Puppet theatre
Frida is a puppeteer and an actress from Zurich. She has specialised in doll-theatre and has travelled extensively with her performances in USA, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. She studied puppetry at the «Ernst Busch» Drama College in Berlin. After gaining experience in acting, street and movement theatre,  Frida Leon Béraud joined hands with musician Frauke Jakobi to establish the Dalang Puppencompany in 2004.  A freelance director and scenographer, Frida is also the co-founder of ‘Chamäleon’.

Bharatesh GD
Art Form: Visual Arts
Bharatesh is a new media artist who works with video, installation, photography and public interactive projects. In his early work he has dealt with the issues of the human body, Gods, popular culture and the regions cinema in the social, spiritual and iconographical context. An art activist, Bharatesh is also the founder of a film club called 'SaaliGudi', that helps visual artists, film students, and young video artists.

Art Form: Visual Arts
Tarun Jung Rawat works with mixed media. He cuts across literary and artistic references to produce a kind of playful art loaded with a hint of magic and with elements from the world of fantasy and fairytales. Tarun's works are replete with virtual experiments in painting and sculpture, design and art. His works were recently included in the permanent collection of the ESSL Museum of Contemporary Art, Vienna.

Srishti Rana          
Art Form: Applied Arts
A graduate of Textile Design from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Srishti has done her post graduation in Textile Design from Winchester School of Art where her MA involved research on common links and interpretations between art practiced in the East and the West. She worked on a collection of contemporary prints & surface textures.

An artist with a particular interest in community-related projects, Sreejata has been deeply interested in exploring the new labour practices that have developed in the neo-liberal political/economic environment, as an articulation and consequence of globalisation. She has been using mixed and digital media, informed by a theoretical framework, to produce narratives.

The recipient of the Emerging Artist Award 2010, Paribartana Mohanty completed his BFA in Printmaking from Dhauli College of Art and Craft, Bhuvaneshwar and MA in History of Art from the National Museum Institute, New Delhi. The Emerging Artists Award, awarded by the Foundation of Indian Contemporary Art, supports young artists studying or practicing in India who demonstrate extraordinary skill and promise in the visual arts.
