Contemporary music, design, dance, literature, photography and new media are the areas that Pro Helvetia New Delhi will focus on in the near future.This December, Swiss theorists of New Media come together with their Indian peers, in the India Habitat Centre Arts Journal 2008 - 2009, to bring to its readers an insight into New Media.

We welcome Christoph Schenker, who will be launching the Annual Arts Journal 2009 of the India Habitat Centre along with Raj Liberhan, Director, India Habitat Cente. The  journal has been co-edited by media theorist Dr. Nils Roeller, Professor for Media and Cultural Theory at the University of the Arts, Zürich and Dr Alka Pande, Consultant Art Advisor and Curator at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre. Christoph Schenker is head of the Institute for Contemporary Arts Research IFCAR at the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, Switzerland.   

MIMETIC's performance at Global Groove, India's first electronic music festival & convention reiterates Pro Helvetia's commitment to support and present new ideas. With this commitment to support and encourage contemporary art forms, Pro Helvetia invites art practitioners from visual, performing and applied arts, as well as from writers, curators and art mediators from South Asia to apply for studio and research residencies.

Launch of the Annual Arts Journal 2009 on New Media
The Visual Arts Gallery will unveil a special journal focusing on New Media art co-edited by Dr Alka Pande, Consultant Art Advisor and Curator at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre and media theorist Dr. Nils Roeller, Professor for Media and Cultural Theory at the University of the Arts, Zürich, on 10 December 2009. More



MIMETIC to participate in Global Groove, India's first electronic music festival & convention
Swiss musicians Jerome Soudan & Emmanuelle Dorsaz of MIMETIC will participate in Global Groove, the first electronic music festival & convention in India, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 17 - 20 of December 2009. Global Groove seeks to connect the international electronic music industry & musicians with their counterparts in India. More  



1001 cups - a contemporary ceramic exhibition
The ceramic exhibition curated by Swiss ceramist Claude Presset pays tribute to the KULHAR, a traditional little tea cup from India and aims to demonstrate the rich diversity that exists in present-day ceramics. The work of 100 ceramists from around the world, including 11 from India, is on display at the Crafts Museum New Delhi until 31 December 2009. More



Residencies 2011/ 2012
Inviting applications from art practitioners from visual arts, performing arts and applied arts, as well as from writers, curators and art mediators from South Asia. The last date for receiving application forms is 1 February 2010. More

myprohelvetia is a tool for creating and processing applications for Residencies. Applicants have their own user account, through which they can handle the associated correspondence, and also have access to earlier applications. More
