Galatea String Quartet tours through six cities in India |

The Galatea Quartet from Zurich was formed in early 2005. This young quartet draws its name from Greek mythology. The quartet has already won prestigious music awards in Europe. They have performed widely in Switzerland as well as in countries like Japan, Italy, Austria, France, Germany and Armenia. Since 2006 the Quartet has been participating in the sessions of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) with professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl and Christoph Richter. The Quartet have won the third prize as well as the audience prize at the Geneva International Music Competition and the first prize at the Migros Chamber Music Competition in 2007. The concert will be of 80 minutes duration and will include pieces by famous musicians such as Jean-Luc Darbellay, Wüthrich-Mathez, Frank Martin, Ludwig v. Beethoven, W.A: Mozart, Bela Bartik. The Quartet will attempt to include a few songs of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.
